Obituary of Arthur Hammond

Arthur Hammond passed away at age 86 in his Santa Cruz home on Friday, December 12, 2014 of cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends. A native of Washington, he had lived in Santa Cruz since the early 1950's. He enjoyed a career of more than 30 years at Lone Star Industries in Davenport and was known for the Redwood planters he created. He is survived by his children Linda Alcaraz (Jerry), Gary Hammond (Etta) and Cheryl Dangzalan (Dan) and step-children Denise Downs (Doug) and Michael Fraker. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Adreanna Alcaraz and Jason Hammond and step-grandchildren, Aaron and Nicholas Franzino. His wife, Doris, passed away in May 2001. Graveside services with Military honors will be held at Oakwood Memorial Park, Monday, December 22, 2014 at 1pm.
