Obituary of Donna H. Hill

God blessed this earth with Donna H. Hill on March 22, 1916 and gave her a servant's heart. She took her job here on earth very seriously and spent most of her 98 years serving others. Even in the last several months when she was unable to do much, her servant heart remained strong with her always offering to help others. She was called to heaven on November 7, 2014 and we know she was greeted with a "Well done, good and faithful servant." She was born in a hollow near Strawberry Point, Iowa to George and Annie Bowers. She married Bennie Charles Hill in 1939 and they had two sons, Clarence and Richard. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona for Bennie's health where she worked for Motorola for many years. She and Bennie retired to Camp Verde, AZ. After Bennie's death in 1987, she moved to Scotts Valley, CA to be near family. During her retirement years she worked many jobs and volunteered with Gray Bears, Meals on Wheels and Santa Cruz Bible. Her parents and brothers, her husband Bennie and stepson, Donald Hill, predeceased her. She leaves her sons, Clarence Russell (Sandy) Hill of Washington, Rick (Cheryl) Hill of Scotts Valley; granddaughters, Cindi Naber, Christa Taylor, Rachel Teeguarden and Kelly Geimer; grandson, Russell Hill; 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. During the past year when she was unable to care for herself, she was cared for lovingly by three of her granddaughters and the help of wonderful caregivers, Cristina, Merrilee and Nancy. The family is grateful for their support as well as Hospice of Santa Cruz County.
