Obituary of Renata Brownbridge

Renata Brownbridge peacefully passed away on October 21, 2014 at her home in Capitola. She was 85 years young. Renata was born in Germany and attended the first Berlin Montessori School. The family was forced to escape to America in 1939, moving first to New York and then to the Bay Area. She received her Bachelor's from San Francisco State University and went on to graduate from UC Berkeley with a Master's in Social Work. Renata was a brilliant psychotherapist. She had a successful career in her Psychotherapy practice in both the Bay Area and Half Moon Bay communities. She loved her work and changed many lives for the better throughout her years as a Marriage and Family Counselor. Renata lived in Montara for many years and leaves behind many who will miss her. She was a devoted member of many groups in the Coastside area, most notably, The Book of the Moon Club, which she helped found. Renata is survived by her daughters, Jan Taylor of Capitola, CA, Raje Anand of Maui, HI, Kindree Brownbridge of Seattle, WA, Pamela Diamond of Washington DC, and Beth Taylor of Seattle, WA. She also leaves two grandchildren of whom she was extremely proud, Sarah Collins of Seattle, WA and Ramoda Anand of Maui, HI; as well as two young great-grandgirls, Keira and Stella Collins of Seattle, WA. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in Renata's name. There will be a Remembrance Gathering on Saturday, November 15th from 1-4 PM at the Half Moon Bay Senior Center on 925 Main Street. Please bring your stories and memories to share with her family.
