Obituary of Percella G. Lyon

PERCELLA (Pat) LYON, passed away on October 27, 2014 at her home in Mesquite, Nevada. Born April 4, 1915, she was 99 years old. Percella was born in Montana, and moved to Santa Cruz, California in 1924, where she lived until she moved to Mesquite, Nevada in 2010. She attended Laurel School, and graduated from Santa Cruz High School in 1933. She worked for Coast County Electric Co. for 6 ½ years, and the Santa Cruz City Schools for 24 years, she also taught business machine classes at Santa Cruz High School. Percella was very active in the local lodges. She was past Matron of Idlewild; Past Matron of Wild Lily; Past High Priestess of Malta White Shrines; Past Noble Grand Isabella Rebekah Lodge; and active in Amaranth. She was also active in their respective lunch clubs and Women of the year and an officer in Santa Cruz Old Timers. Percella was married to Gordon Bruce Lyon, a local photographer, who preceded her in death. She leaves behind two stepsons: Bruce Lyon of Seattle, Washington, and Bill Lyons and his wife Sharon of Mesquite, Nevada, two grandsons, one granddaughter, four great grandchildren and one great great grandson, and her dear friend and former neighbor Lynn Piquett. Percella will always be remembered for her interest in the welfare of children and animals. She will be returning to her favorite city of Santa Cruz, and be entombed at Santa Cruz Memorial Park Mausoleum.
