Obituary of Ruth Mae Williams

Ruth Mae Williams, 92, passed into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. She is survived by three daughters, Suzanne Hebel, Carolyn Hamm, and Marilyn Walker; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and her sister, Lois. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ora Williams; her sister Ruby; her brother, Bob; and her grandson, Michael. Ruth was born in North Dakota, lived in Iowa and Ohio before moving to Southern California in 1945. She met and married Ora and they worked together in their drapery business, both in Southern California and in Santa Cruz, from 1948 until 1970 when they retired. After retirement they enjoyed motor home traveling and wintering in Yuma, Arizona. Ruth and Ora were founding members of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church and both worshipped there until they went to meet their Lord. She enjoyed quilting, weaving and especially cooking and serving her family and friends. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 2402 Cabrillo College Dr., Soquel (off Park Ave.), on Sunday, September 14, at 1:30 pm. Memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church of Soquel.
