Obituary of Jacob John Savell

Please share a memory of Jacob to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jacob John Savell, music producer and manager, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the age of 60. Jacob was born in Niland, CA, a small desert community near the Salton Sea east of San Diego, and always had a love for the desert. Growing up in Escondido, CA, he gained an early interest in music eventually making a career as an accomplished singer, songwriter, guitarist, producer, and manager. Moving to Santa Cruz in 1996, he continued to make his mark on music, creating the annual Decemberchild Benefit Concert which has donated thousands of dollars to local charities to help children and their families in need, and producing a couple of singles that reached #1 on radio charts around the country in 2008. He was a devout, bible-reading Christian with a deep generosity that touched many people's hearts and souls. He would give his last dollar to a stranger in need, gifts to friends for no special occasion, his prize possession to someone who mentioned they liked it, and all without hesitation. One of his trademarks was to give away a guitar at concerts, combining his love of music with his truly generous spirit. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 2nd at Santa Cruz Memorial Mission Chapel, 1927 Ocean Street in Santa Cruz.
