Dear Julie and Tony, I am sorry that I will be out of town when you have the service. I look back fondly on our friendship with your family in Rolling Woods. I also remember the many hours I worked with Charles on the Miss California Pageant. It was a fun and exciting time. Your Dad loved that task and put all his heart and soul into it. He was an energetic and creative man, who attacked everything with all his effort.
His expertise In Interior design was exemplary. He did the design in our house. I also remember the project he had on Opal Cliffs Drive, where he basically rebuilt the house. He took me through it and it was a great success. His energy will be missed.
I was saddened to see in the obituary, that Charles had Alzheimer's. He was such an active man with so many great ideas. To have that dampened is a shame. I know it is not the way he would want to go and it must have driven him nuts. So I will toast the busy, fast moving and creative man who was a part of my life.
I wish you the best in your lives and again apologize for not being there.
