Obituary of David Alvin Loucks

David Alvin Loucks passed away peacefully from natural causes with his family at his side. He was an active part of the Demolay organization as a youth and went on to graduate from Santa Cruz High School in 1957 and married his high school sweet heart Barbara Riegelhuth on Oct 19 of that same year. He worked for Santa Cruz Land Title Company for approximately 20 years. He also ran his own business for nearly 30 years as a line striper. David volunteered as a Santa Cruz Sheriff's reserve deputy where he was promoted quickly and also worked as a public relations officer for the Sheriff's office. David enjoyed camping, fishing, and carpentry and made a lot of friends at Sir Froggy's Pub in Soquel. David is survived by daughter Debra Kowalski, son Jim Loucks, nieces Judy Mcintire and Janice Yeazell,nephews David Yeazell and Leon Loucks. David was preceded in death by his son: Rodger William Loucks, sister Betty Yeazell and brother Merle Loucks. The family would like to thank the staff of Santa Cruz Hospice for their excellent care and also the staff at Capitola Manor where he lived the last 2 years of his life.Services will be held Tuesday April 15 at 2:00pm.
