Obituary of Alice Jane Maranghi

Passed away peacefully at home, just as she wished, on Feb. 8th at the age of 84. Long time Santa Cruz resident and retired psychiatrist for Santa Cruz County, Jane was the daughter of James and Alice Foley and grew up in San Mateo, CA. She attended Stanford University and Johns Hopkins University and enjoyed a long career as a psychiatrist. She is survived by her three children, Roberto (Mary Jo), Giancarlo (Lana) and Katie (Serafino), her eight grandchildren in Italy, Oregon and California, and her dear younger brother, James Foley, of Cave Junction, OR. Jane had a keen intellect and possessed a great love of learning, travel, music, ballet and the arts. We will miss her quiet strength, vast knowledge, sage wisdom and sound advice. Graveside services will be held at 11am on Friday, February 14th, at Santa Cruz Memorial Cemetery.
