Gerry was a good friend of my mom and dad and also a friend of mine. I remember when I got to know her. She was on a trip and was passing through Athens, Greece where I was living at the time. We made plans to meet and I wasn't sure how spending a couple of days with a friend of my parents would be. Well, if I had any preconceived ideas they were quickly put to rest. She and I wandered all over Athens and had a great time! She had more energy than I! It also didn't hurt that she and I shared the same political beliefs. We drank ouzo (maybe and i drank ouzo, I cant remember)and talked for hours! We had a great time and I always enjoyed seeing her over the years. I remember she said "Everyday over 80 is a gift." Well, she did pretty well with that but will be missed by all that knew her.
