Obituary of Phyllis Ann Adams

Phyllis Ann Adams passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side on November 26, 2013. Phyllis was 88. She was born to Ruby Brumfeil on April 29, 1925 in Marion, Indiana. She was raised in Jonesboro, Indiana Phyllis and David F. Adams met in grade school and married on March 17, 1945. They continued to have a loving marriage for 68 wonderful years. They brought the family to Santa Cruz in 1960. Phyllis was a career postal worker at the Capitola Post office, where she received several awards for her outstanding service. She enjoyed vacationing in the warm places. She retired in 1985. Phyllis and Dave retired to Mazatlan, Mexico to enjoy the warm weather, golf and the beaches. After Mexico they lived in the California desert until returning to Santa Cruz in 2008. Phyllis had many achievements in her life, but her family gave her he the most pleasure. She was a loving and supportive presence to her three children, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Phyllis is survived by her husband Dave, her two sons David A. Adams (Karyn) and S. Randy Adams (Patty), her daughter Shelly Vest (Doug), her two sisters Marthena McKelleb and Donna Forsythe, her six grandchildren, Kim, Jerusha, Lia, Steven, Sissy and R. Eugene, and her three great grandchildren, Thomas, David and Kaleb.
