Obituary of Elizabeth Gemignani

Elizabeth Gemignani passed away peacefully at her home in Santa Cruz surrounded by her family on November 18, 2013 at the age of 83. Elizabeth was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on November 5, 1930 to Kush Terlesky and Sophia Schmelik. She graduated from Wheeling High School and went on to work in several different fields. She worked as a telephone switchboard operator in the 50's, a school volunteer in the 70's, a Real Estate Realtor in the 80's, and a scheduler at Dominican Hospital in the 90's. She grew up in Wheeling, WV, she enjoyed vacationing in Lake Tahoe and was a resident of Santa Cruz for 45 years. She was an active member at the St. Vincent de Paul Church in Davenport, CA. Elizabeth loved Bingo and all things sweet. Elizabeth was a talented "Pysanky" Ukrainian Easter Egg artist. She also enjoyed painting with watercolors and was an avid seamstress which included embroidery. Some of her favorite things were the color purple, pierogies, "Ring of Fire," by Johnny Cash, her favorite perfume is Tabu and her favorite word No! Above all, she was a loving mother. Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Carlo; her children John, Frank, Adele and Monya; her sister Ann Everson and a niece and a nephew. A Celebration of Elizabeth's life will be held Sunday December 8th from 11am to 3pm at the Clubhouse in the Antonelli Retirement Park at 2655 Brommer St. In Santa Cruz.
