Obituary of Barbara Jean Radie

Barbara Jean Ramirez-Slay-Radie left us on Saturday, October 19, 2013. Born to Joseph and Barbara Ramirez on March 3, 1954, she spent her childhood in Santa Cruz, attending Soquel Elementary, Good Shepherd Catholic School, Del Mar Middle School and both Soquel and Harbor High. Following high school she worked for many years as a forklift operator at both Lipton Tea and Wrigley's Gum factories. She loved to entertain for her friends and had a passion for cooking. She is survived by her husband of fifteen years, Edward Radie; her son, Nicholas Slay; her mother, Barbara Rowe; her sisters, Debra Pinkham and Annette Lippter; her brother, Joseph Ramirez, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Ramirez, and her sister, Jossie Ramirez-Fusari. A graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery on Saturday, October 26th at 10:00am, with a reception to follow at the Star of the Sea Church Hall on Frederick Street.
