Obituary of Conni Butler

Conni Butler entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Conni was born in Oakland, CA on October 13th, 1955 to her parents, Vic and Ruth La Porte of Laguna Beach, CA, whom preceded her in death. Conni is survived by Steve Shugart, her brother, Mark La Porte, her sister Vicki Sheff, her daughter, Coral Kimberly Olinger, her three grandboys, Hans, Harley, and Hayden Olinger and her nieces and nephews. Conni lived and worked many years in Hawaii on the island of Maui. She met Hans Heath and they returned to the mainland to raise a family. Their daughter, Coral was born in the Bay Area and named after their love of the islands. Coral brought much joy to both families. Conni met and remarried attorney, Jack Butler. They moved to La Selva Beach. Conni and Jack worked hard, traveled, sailed, and raised Coral. Conni met Steve Shugart and shared many years with him. Conni became a Santa Cruz Realtor. She became well-known in the Santa Cruz community for her commitment to her clients and the Santa Cruz Real Estate Industry. Conni was a resident of Santa Cruz and La Selva Beach for 30+ years. In addition to her love of real estate, Conni loved sailing. Conni moored her boats in the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor. She sailed out of the Santa Cruz Harbor with the local sailing community. She loved to read books. She loved cooking. Conni lived a life with a Hawaiiaan influence, that inspired us all. Her adventurous spirit and love of the sea is what made her a beautiful person. She will be missed by her family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to the Memorial Service with Rev. Jane Grady at La Selva Beach Community Church, 26 Florido Avenue, La Selva Beach, CA at 2pm on Saturday, September 14th.
