I hope the memorial for Al was a wonderful one and was sorry I didn't acknowledge our friendship sooner. I' ve been out of town a lot.
As Al liked to remind me, we both began working for COE at the same time. I was a traveling teacher of the visually impaired and would see him at various schools during the day. Some years we had offices next door to each other. I always like his cheery attitude about the day and life in general. Many times he brightened my day with his humor and teasing. We also felt like we'd been through a lot of craziness at COE But Had lots of laughs about it too.
I missed him when he retired and hope he had lots of joy during his retirement years.

Al, you were the best of friends to both of us for going on 40 years. We will miss you old friend, no more Sunday morning phone calls to laugh and reminisce old times together. May love and lots of beer surround you.
