Obituary of Frank James Elliott

Services will be held on Friday August 16, at 1pm at Oakwood Memorial Chapel for the beloved Jim Elliott. Jim passed away on July 31st at Scottsdale Healthcare Center. Jim was riding his bicycle while on vacation in Florence, AZ when he was hit by a passing truck. He will be missed, especially by the biggest joy in his life, his son Jimmy Michael. Jim was born to Frances and Clyde Elliott on March 08, 1942 in Newcastle, WY. Jim's family relocated to Lakeview, OR where he spent a happy childhood on a working ranch. Jim attended high school in Eugene OR and then enlisted in the Navy. He served with the Navy from 1960 - 1964. He was proud of his military service and throughout those years discovered his love of travel. Jim was a staunch Republican and lifetime member of the NRA. Jim settled in Santa Cruz, CA where Elliott Roofing was established in 1976. Jim's happiest years were enjoyed traveling with the love of his life Donna. They especially enjoyed Japan, Belize and Phuket. He was delighted to have had the opportunity to travel to Turkey with his daughter-in-law Danelle Cline. Jim enjoyed taking his kids camping, hunting, or spending family time at "the property". During Easter picnics he taught all of the grandkids, and anyone who wanted to learn, how to drive a tractor and fell a tree. Jim loved spirited conversation at cherished family gatherings where he would test your wit and will. Jim is survived by his wife Donna (Burr) Elliott, son Jimmy Elliott (wife Danelle Cline), stepson Bill Burr (wife Chrisa Burr), stepdaughter Jana Barry (husband Warren Barry), grandkids Cassidy Burr, Joshua Burr, Nolan Burr, Liam Barry, Quinlynn Barry and Evan Elliott. Sisters Alice Elliott, Mary Patten, and Betty Jean Elliott, brother Clyde Donald Elliott and several nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, father, and sister Francene Gutierrez.
