Obituary of Patricia Helena Gassmann

Patricia Helena Gassmann, 70, passed away in Santa Cruz May 30, 2013. A native of Toronto, Canada, she lived in San Jose, where she graduated from Lincoln High School and Campbell Beauty College. She later lived in Santa Cruz for 30 years where she graduated from UCSC and received her certificate in substance abuse counseling. She worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor for Janis in Santa Cruz. She also loved interior decorating, shopping, and movies. She was a walking enthusiast and an animal advocate. She is survived by her son, Arthur Dewit Powers, daughter, Veronica Ann Powers, sisters, Virginia Marie Lybarger, Jessica Tara Jones and Rene' Aleta Smith and brother, Richard Wade Jones, Jr. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Ashley Nicole Powers and Megan Elizabeth Powers and grandson, Jakob Emile Powers, 3 nieces and 2 nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Dorice Keye Jones and Howard Robinson Vingoe, her fiancé Peter Haggerty, her son Robert Scott Powers, granddaughter, Alicia Ann Dalson and grandson, Danny Dalson. Memorial Services will be held at sea July 13, 2013.
