I am sorry to hear about Bill's passing. He was a neighbor (a few blocks away) and a friend from Santa Cruz Rotary. I used to run into him and Shirley at the gym early on weekday mornings until her illness grew more serious. Then he remained at home to care for her. Bill once generously gifted me several of his cookbooks and a batch of cooking magazines, as both of us loved to be in the kitchen. He also liked to show off his vegetable garden and fruit trees. Our Rotary Club's centennial yearbook will be arriving soon from the publisher. It includes photos of him, along with an old County Bank newspaper ad featuring a drawing of him and of George Gallucci. Bill lived a long and full life. My condolences to his friends and family.

Bill and I were neighbors about 9 houses apart on Thurber Lane. I knew him well as a neighbor, a banker and and Elk. I was with First Interstate Bank and Bill of course with County Bank. I loved to rile him up with the talk that my bank was going to buy his bank. And and an Elk, Bill was the Lodge Treasurer for many years. Bill's birthday was the 14th and mine the 15th (several years later as I always reminded him). He was a good friend and he will be misses.
