Obituary of Donna Sears Jean

Donna Sears Jean, better known as Grandma Donna, passed away on December 5, 2022 after a 5 year battle with cancer. Her faith in the Lord provided her with the strength and perseverance for the battle. She also participated in clinical trials to assist others in finding cures. Donna worked at Kevex X-ray for 25 years. She started out as a secretary and worked her way up to Shipping Traffic Manager. She retired multiple times because they kept asking her to come back. Donna finally retired in 2006 and they celebrated with an Elvis impersonator at her retirement party. Donna was born in El Monte California on August 7,1946 to Leland and Barbara Sears. She is preceded in death by her husband Nick and her parents. Donna is survived by: her brother David and Gail Sears (and Sears family), her children James Jean and Julie Kodama-Jean (and Kodama Family), Jennifer James Ambrose and Steve Ambrose (and Ambrose family), her grandchildren Desiree Chase (and Chase/Neff family), Alie James (and James family),and her great grandchildren Cameron Chase and Jayden James. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to St. Jude’s Cancer Research. Friends and family are invited to her Celebration of Life at Calvary Chapel in Capitola located at 4575 Capitola Road at 2pm.
