Sage Martin Engbers, was born on October 21, 1994 in Santa Cruz, CA and left his physical body on August 11, 2022 (age 27). Sage attended Cypress High School and graduated from Soquel High School. He was currently attending the California State University Channel Islands pursuing a degree in Business. Sage was a loving soul, a cherished son, grandson, nephew, cousin and a great friend to many. He enjoyed soccer, cooking, golf, snowboarding, camping, attending concerts, gardening, making his signature t-shirts, traveling and working on his car. He especially enjoyed body boarding and occasionally surfing in the Pacific and Lake Michigan. He very much loved his family, friends and his pets. Friends and family have said they will remember him for his creativity, sense of humor and especially his kind heart and generosity. His gentle demeanor and warm smile will be greatly missed. He is survived by his mother, Jillian Engbers (Aptos, CA), his father Charles Engbers (Sonya Thomason, Rocklin, CA), brother Josh Dyer (Clayton, CA), grandfather James Engbers (Grand Rapids, MI), his aunt and uncle Jack and Nicki Alpers (cousins Nalatie and Tyler; Sonora, CA), aunts and uncles Jim Engbers and Jeanne Pepin (Hamilton, MI), Steve and Nancy Falk (cousins Alex, Charlotte and Abigail; Columbus, OH), and Dave and Amy Engbers (cousins Harriet, Helen, Eleanor and Edward; Grand Rapids, MI). Sage was proceeded in death by his great grandmother Lucy Alpers and his grandmothers Marianne Borba and Harriet Engbers. A Celebration of Life for Sage will be held on Saturday, October 29 at 2:00pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Santa Cruz County; 6401 Freedom Blvd, Aptos, CA 95003.
