Carolyn Jean Meisser, 82, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, elegance, and devotion to her family. She was born on October 15, 1943, in Colville, Washington, to Elmer and Altha Shively.

Carolyn was a devoted mother to her two sons, Everett Lee Meisser III and Aaron Charles Meisser, and a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren who brought her immense joy. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She made her home in Santa Cruz beginning in 1973, after living in Spokane, Idaho, and Pasadena. A lifelong learner, she earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of San Francisco in 2002. She worked as a bookkeeper, and in sales and window design at Dell Williams Jewelers, and as an interior decorator. Above all, she cherished her role as a full-time mother and homemaker.

Carolyn had a remarkable gift for beauty and detail—she could make anything look elegant with very little. She was a wealth of knowledge and had exceptional taste in art and all fine things. She loved gardening, playing the piano, traveling, and creating beautiful spaces, especially through her elegant table settings. She was an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors, but her greatest joy in sports was watching her grandson Phoenix play baseball.

She gave generously of her time, serving as president of Mid-County Pony League and volunteering with the Santa Cruz Symphony. Raised by minister parents, she carried a strong foundation of faith throughout her life. Her love for Jesus was central to who she was.

A memorial service for Carolyn will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 435 Monterey Ave., Capitola. Interment will take place at a later date in Spokane, Washington.

Carolyn will be remembered for her grace, creativity, faith, and the love she poured into her family. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
