Obituary of Michael Edward Bailey

Michael Edward Bailey, 82, of Santa Cruz, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, surrounded by family. Born in Southern California on March 13, 1943, Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a cherished friend. A nationally recognized watercolor artist and teacher, Mike inspired countless students over more than two decades. He was a proud member of the National and American Watercolor Societies and known for his passion, creativity, and generosity. Mike is survived by his wife Diana; daughters Melissa and Brenis; stepchildren David and Karen; grandchildren; and siblings Linda, Robin, Laurie, and Devon. His impact on the arts community and his students will be remembered with deep gratitude. A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on August 15th, 1:00 pm, at Oakwood Memorial Chapel, 3301 Paul Sweet Rd.
