Richard John Frank Haro, 78, of Aromas, CA passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on November 1, 1946, in San José, CA, Richard lived a life marked by faith, service, hard work, and love. He proudly served his country as a cook in the United States Marine Corps, bringing comfort and nourishment to his fellow Marines with every meal he prepared. After his military service, he found his calling on the open road as a trucker, where he built lasting friendships and embraced the freedom of the highway.
Above all, Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He married his best friend, Karen, on February 12, 1966, and together they created a home filled with love, faith, and laughter. His children, Richie, Stacie, Dana & Robbie were his greatest joy, and he led by example, teaching them the values of hard work, kindness, and trust in the Lord.
In his free time, Richard could often be found on the golf course, enjoying the fresh air, a good swing, and even better company. His love for the game was rivaled only by his deep and abiding faith in Jesus and his strong commitment to ministry. A man of strong belief, he lived his life with integrity, always ready with an encouraging word and a helping hand for those in need.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Karen; his children, Richie, Stacie, Dana & Robbie; his grandchildren, Raymond, Anthony, Natalie, Christopher, Nicole, Caileigh & Baby Danielle Lake; his great grandchild, Aiden and many dear family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Candido & Carmella; his brother, Dennis; his godmother, Auntie Mary; his Uncle Larry and his granddaughter, Danielle Christine.
A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 1:00pm at Aromas Bible Church, 263 Carpenteria Road, Aromas, CA 95004. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and “dedicate your donation” “in memory of" Richard Haro.
Though his journey on earth has ended, his legacy of faith, love, and laughter will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. If he could offer any last words of advice, they would be “Keep your faith strong, keep your swing steady and you’re not lost, you are on an adventure.”
