Born in Slaughter, Louisiana to Wilbur Whitley, and Nina (Green) Whitley.

Mildred was the oldest of 7. Her brothers are John, and his wife Flordia, Sterling and his wife Carrie, Robert and his wife Martha, Lloyd and his wife Priscilla, two sisters, Maril-Steen and husband Ray, Lottie and husband, Curtis.

Mildred worked most of her life. She worked for Sisters Hospital, and Dominican for over 60 years. She also was a Jehovah’s Witness.

Mildred had five children, Diane (Dixon) Mahont, Lisa Harper, Chuck Harper, Chris Harper, and Jeff Harper.

She left Louisiana, moving to Oakland. After some time, Mildred ended up in Santa Cruz where she resided.

Mildred is preceded in death by her parents Wilbur Whitley and Nina Whitley, and sister Marie-Steen. She enjoyed going to the thrift stores, Goodwill. She also enjoyed her grand kids and great grand kids and spending time with her family.

She had a lot of nieces and nephews. When asked how she was, she would always say fairly medling. She was a great mom to a lot and will truly be missed.
