Lefonda (Lee) Hedberg March 8, 1922 - May 7, 2018 Resident of Santa Cruz Lefonda (Lee) Hedberg, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 7, 2018 at the age of 96. Lee was born in Savannah, Missouri on March 8, 1922 to John Leo Rogers and Margaret Graves Rogers. She eventually moved from Omaha, NE to California where she lived in Long Beach, Grass Valley, Yuba City, Watsonville, Scotts Valley and lastly, Santa Cruz. She worked as a Secretary and then a Stenographer for Firestone Tire Company and the Monterey County Agricultural Commissioner's Office: Farm and Home Division. She loved making jewelry, a skill she had hone since the 1960's. She also enjoyed listening to gospel and country music. Lee is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Howe; sister, Mary Coon; sister-in-law, Hazel (Ellie) Rogers; 7 grandchildren and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd Goodman, a Paratrooper during WWII on February 9, 1945; and her husband of 47 years, Clifford Hedberg, on May 1, 2014; and her brother, Leo Rogers. She will be laid to rest alongside Clifford at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 2:30 PM.
