Raised in Los Gatos Resident of Santa Cruz Ray Howard, 92 passed away peacefully on November 9, 2016. Ramon is survived by his two daughters Shirley Miller and Linn Dee Tapley, and his grandson Bradley Miller. Ray is also survived by many loving family members in the Howard, Horton, Roberts, and White families. Ray was honorably discharged from the Navy after serving during WWII and the Korean War. Ray retired from the Santa Clara County Sheriffs Department as a Lieutenant and was a member of their dive team. Ray was also a Master Mason belonging to the Los Gatos Lodge. Ray joins his wife of 64 years, Shirley Joyce (Horton) Howard on that big golf course in heaven. He and Shirley were generous to many charities and loved to share their good fortune with family and friends. Ray will be sorely missed by all who knew him and loved him. A special thank you to Gail and Gib Montalvo, Sherry Green, Victoria Serano, Luz De Jesus, and Keny Johnson friends and caregivers who devoted their time to make Ray happy and comfortable in his final years. A special thank you to Hospice of Santa Cruz for making Ray's final days comfortable and peaceful. A memorial service will be held at Santa Cruz Memorial on Ocean Street Extension in Santa Cruz (831) 426-1601, on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 1:00 P.M.
