Obituary of Charles Secondo Bella

Charles Secondo Bella - 6-12-1926 - 10/28/2016 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Charles Secondo Bella (Charlie) on Oct. 28 2016. It is also with joy that we celebrate his life. He was surrounded by family during his brief illness and passed away in his sleep at home after enjoying dinner with family. He will be missed by all who knew him because he always left such an impression with his wry sense of humor. He was born and raised in the hills of Aptos where he grew up raising hell. At the age of 16, he started farming apples with his grandfather, then father and until the day he died, with his beloved sons Chuck and John. He was always on the go, hunting, fishing and hiking in the Santa Cruz Mountains to the South Coast of Big Sur when he was younger, and as he got older, sticking closer to home but always on the move. He was not one to let moss grow under his feet. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Joe and Roma Bella, brother, Earl Bella, Daughter Linda Liebe and his beloved wife of 64 years, Virginia Hopkins Bella (Ginger). He is survived by a large and close family of children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and family by association. His immediate family includes Chuck and Dottie Bella (Ginni and family, Robin and family and Anthony), John and Betty Bella (Christina and family, Stephanie and family) and Gina (Bella) and Bill Colfer (Alexandra and family and Garrett). We would like to extend our gratitude to Franks Pharmacy, Aptos Safeway and Aptos Comerica for being so warm and good friends with him after he had to learn how to shop and bank after mom died 7 years ago. Also, a very warm thank you to Theresa for being such a great caregiver to him in his last month of life. He was loved by so many!
