Obituary of Monique Sage

Monique Sage loving wife, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefulfy with her family by her side Tuesday October 17, 2016 at the age of 77. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Roger of 50 years. Mrs Sage is survived by her daughter Danielle and son-in-law Richard Young, their three children; Jesse, Ted and Genny and two great grandchildren; Abigail and Joel. Monique was born in Paris, France on June 30th, 1939, met the love of her life, Roger and they were married in 1957. They came to the U.S. in 1967 and made Santa Cruz their home for over 45 years. Mrs Sage loved spending time with her family, dancing, music, traveling, walks on the beach, socializing with friends, reading, gardening, and hosting large holiday dinners. She was never shy to strike up a conversation with a stranger and make them feel welcomed and included. As a hobby Mrs Sage was an astrologist for a local newspaper in the 1970's. Monique and Roger owned Forest Pool in Boulder Creek throughout the 70's and were real estate investors with countless letters of praise from tenants and colleagues for their integrity, honesty and kindness. She embraced her role as an affectionate and loving mother, grandmother and friend, always ready and willing to help out with those around her. Her free time was spent hosting friends and family, traveling, and participating in local groups such as the French community. Monique's unwavering optimism was a cornerstone of her personality and she inspired all those that knew her. She will be dearly missed! Services will be held for Mrs. Sage at the Oakwood Memorial Chapel 3301 Paul Sweet Road Santa Cruz Friday October 28, 2016 at 1 pm with graveside committal to follow.
