Obituary of Wesley Dean Curteman

Wesley Curteman, 87, passed away at his Scotts Valley home Monday morning after a lengthy illness. He was born in La Grande, Oregon and grew up in Chester, CA. He attended Susanville High School and Chico State University, where he studied architecture. He worked for Collins Pine Lumber in Chester, where he also built his home and a church. In 1961 he moved to Sacramento, where he worked for Aerojet for 12 years, and later moved to Santa Cruz where he continued in the aerospace industry as an inspector until retiring. Wesley is survived by his wife of 63 years, Arda and their daughter, Jeannet, both of Scotts Valley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Jennie Curteman, and by his three brothers, Robert, Doug, and Ted Curteman. He dearly loved hunting and fishing and travel. He was a member of the Nazarene Church of Santa Cruz and Gideons International. Funeral services will be held at Santa Cruz Memorial Oakwood Chapel, 3301 Paul Sweet Road, Santa Cruz on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 9AM until time of service, and a graveside committal will follow.
