Obituary of James Vantrease

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jimmy Vantrease. Jimmy would do anything for those he loved. He was an old fashioned kind of guy who worked hard to support his wife and make her happy. A quick witted joker, Jimmy could come up with the funniest nicknames for people and pets. A master carpenter, everything he created was beautiful and well crafted. Jimmy loved classic muscle cars and jumped in to turn a wrench whenever possible. He was always smiling with his mischievous grin and the bluest of eyes that twinkled. Jimmy will be remembered by everyone who shared his warm smile and love. He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Kathryn Carpenter Vantrease of Santa Cruz, loving sister Diane Felten of Rhonert Park, loving son Nicholas Vantrease of Windsor, CA, loving stepson Ryan "Tiny" Myers of Santa Cruz, three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Jimmy's Life will be held Friday, August 26th at 12:30 p.m. at Santa Cruz Memorial~Mission Chapel, 1927 Ocean Street, Santa Cruz, California.
