Obituary of Sarah Elizabeth Rogers

Please share a memory of Sarah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
We lost our Sunshine when Sarah Elizabeth Rogers passed from this world to the next peacefully at home at age 38. Sarah leaves behind her beloved children Lucus and Alyssa Huffman, parents Neil and Anne Rogers and Debbie and Roger Mason, partner Ben Martin, former husband Dan Huffman, siblings Antonio (Nikki) Orozco, Susan (Dan) Young, Lori Iles, and Mike Dinsmore, nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other members of the Rogers, Jones, Heidt, and Huffman families. She was preceded by her beloved younger brother Jared Rogers and many other friends and family. Sarah moved to Santa Cruz County at age 12, and attended Scotts Valley Middle School, Harbor High, and graduated from Loma Prieta High. She was an artist who made beautiful jewelry, a creative, healthy cook, and bilingual. She loved the beauty of nature and travelling, most recently to British Columbia and Sonoma County, and treasured her trip to Guatemala. Sarah made lifelong friends wherever she went, with her open heart, caring kindness, sense of humor, fun-loving nature, and sensitive empathy. She loved all children and animals, who sensed her innate sweet goodness and loved her in return. Her favorite jobs involved childcare and pet-care. Sarah's memorial service will be held on Friday, July 29 at 1:00 PM at Peace United Church of Christ, 900 High St., Santa Cruz. Donations in her name may be made to the Santa Cruz SPCA, where Sarah volunteered. We are very grateful to the staff of Dominican Hospital who provided Sarah with excellent, compassionate care during her many diabetic health crises.
