Elizabeth Ann Dilloughery, 88, passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer's on Sunday, March 13, 2016 in Santa Cruz. Lily was born on August 13, 1927 in Cork City, Ireland to Tommy and Catherine O'Dowd. Lily was the 2nd of two children. In her early teens Lily worked in a glove factory to help support her family. Lily met her husband, Michael Dilloughery, during this period walking to and from work, as they lived around the corner from each other. It was notlong before Lily and Michael were courting and married in May 1952. Lily and Michael immigrated to the U.S. in October 1959 bringing their three children, Paula, Eric, and Carol. Two more sons were born in Santa Cruz, Kevin and Michael. Lily was a lovely, patient, and gentle lady, creating a loving and wonderful home for Michael and their five children. Our home was a most welcoming place with the door always open to friends and family. Much laughter and great conversations were a constant in our home. Lily was very active in the Irish Club of Santa Cruz and enjoyed practicing the traditional Irish Dancing. She was also very fond of tennis, playing alongside Michael and their many friends. Lily is survived by her daughter, Paula Feinberg (Bruce) of Santa Cruz, sons, Eric (Nancy) of Capitola, Michael (Corinna) of Santa Cruz, daughter in law, Kelly Dilloughery of Santa Cruz, grandchildren, Sean, Brendan, Ryan, Devan, Brianna, Erica,, McKenzie, Connor. Michael James, and 10 great grandchildren. Lily is survived by nieces and nephews of the O'Regan family; cousins of the Harrison family and members of the Dillougher family in Cork City, Ireland and throughout Europe, including her nephew, John Dilloughery in Southern California. In addition, she leaves her "adopted" son Takashi Baba of Japan. Lily ws preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael, daughter, Carol, and son Kevin, and her sister Sheila O'Regan A memorial mass will be held at the Oblates of St. Joseph on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 1:00pm The Dilloughery family would especially like to thank Maple House for their support, care and attention to our mom.
