Obituary of Margaret Evelyn Wilson

Margaret Evelyn Wilson, born on August 5, 1924 in Yakima, WA to Alfred Theodore Turner and Madge Louella Haase, passed away on November 3, 2015 at the age of 91. While living in Washington, Margaret attended Yakima Academy and Walla Walla University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree. She then went on to earn a Master's Degree from Arizona State University. She loved teaching children to have a love of reading and learning and dedicated 48 years to being an elementary school teacher. Margaret has always had a passion for reading and she is remembered by many as always having a book wherever she went. She also played the piano for entertainment and for church services. While living around the Monterey Bay she attended the Pacific Grove, Seaside and Soquel Seventh-day Adventists Churches where she put her musical talents to good use as well as helping in the children's study groups, continuing with her dedication to teaching. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Carol Garza; son, David Wilson; sister, Phyllis Daniel; grandsons, David, Timothy & Jonathan Garza, Joel and Kristopher; 5 great-grandchildren, 3 nieces and 6 nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wilson; sister, Sylvia Qualley; and brothers Ron and Bert Turner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the VHM Christian School, 427 Capitola Road Ext., Santa Cruz, CA 95062. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Soquel Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2501 Porter Street, Soquel, CA 95073 on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 3 PM. She was laid to rest alongside her husband at Oakwood Memorial Park.
