So sad to hear this. Dale was my preschool teacher from around 92-96 I believe. She laid down the foundation of who I am today. Potty training a kid with yogurt covered raisins is still the best way in my eyes. I remember her husband taught me to make the perfect paper airplane, which helped me at summer camp to win a paper airplane contest in later years.
I was reading "Pig Did A Jig", folding up my blanket and mat after nap time, reading a clock, and writing my name all before kindergarten. I still have the Rainbow Brite vhs she let me keep when I left and as silly as it sounds it's one of my most treasured possessions. I remember wearing crazy long bibs that we had to put our plates on so we couldn't fidget. And I remember her cat Sadie who liked to swim, I named one of my old stuffed animals after her.
Just sitting here I'm remembering more and more memories of stern but lovable Dale. I had so much fun in preschool, and I learned more there than I think I've learned anywhere else. To her loving family I offer my condolences, and also my thanks. Thank you for sharing her with me. She really was such a special person and I'll never forget her.
