I was honored to have had Mr. Ouse as my teacher at Branciforte Jr. high in 78-79, and was one of the earlier students who benefited from the SCC program he created. I feel so grateful to have had his positive influence on my life and education; he was so patient and good-natured, and so full of encouragement. He put up with many antics of our young minds and encouraged our creativity and unique self-expression. SCC was an innovative program that allowed those of us having been in alternative education to choose our own path in integrating with the "rest" of the school, allowing us a "home base" where we always felt nurtured. My love and condolences go out to his family in this sad time.

I had Mr. Ouse for my 7th grade English teacher at Branciforte. He was always on me to wear my glasses, back in the day it was not "Cool". He stayed on top of that through the whole year. I remember him as a kind, serious, but with a great sense of humor man.
Forever etched in our memories Mr. Ouse. Former B-40 student.
Thoughts and prayers to his whole family

Mr. Ouse was one of the kindest and most influential teachers in my life. As his student during some very critical years in my childhood (age 12-14), I gained confidence and a sense of self-worth that was unavailable to me elsewhere in life. It was in Mr. Ouse's class that I discovered my true love for writing. His encouragement and sincere pride in me as a student was the first and one of the most important influences on my desire to make the most of myself and my education.

I remember when Gordon was teaching me how to draw while I was going through cancer treatment. Gordon was kind, patient, and very talented in many ways. I know that he is in the hands of the angels.

I remember all the fun times going to visit Uncle Joe and Aunt Lena. Gordon and Jordon would always have a basketball in hand, after waiting awhile they would let me try and shoot some baskets too, I was trilled, I looked up to them. Gordon always was fun to visit with. Cousin Norma

-Hoops- Bravura, Ides, Hymn & Sopas. The hoops were not my domain, the others are familiar smells and sounds that we shared. My thanks for being there and sharing. Somehow you found the time to record a history of our times in your books.
Blessings to you for blessing us with your presence,

I am forever grateful Gordon for making me feel welcome in his home. The Ouse family were very important to me as a young girl. Their home was a haven and Gordon's gentleness was awe inspiring. He was a lovely man.

Gordon was one of the greatest friends anyone could have. He not only loved music he lived it. He was a great friend who stepped in to help us when our granddaughter was diagnosed with cancer. He would come over to the house and help her with art so she was able to graduate from high school. It was a privilege to call him our friend and we will miss him very much. R.I.P.
