Dorothy Sturtevant posted a condolence

Dear Doug, Billy, and Mark:
You boys were blessed to have such a beautiful, fun loving, and always kind mother. I miss her and have been for sometime now. May her precious soul rest in peace.
My family and I have such wonderful memories of time spent around the table in Capitola, talking, laughing, and drinking beer! And of course the beer was usually served by one of you boys from the old refrigerator outside. Enid was always ready with snacks that she had to keep hidden in the freezer. I'm smiling now just remembering those times!
Also, there were many parties with "The Good Sports" and Enid was often the life of the party. She was always ready to have a good time and to make sure everyone else did too.
I am so thankful to have known her and to have had such a special person in my life.
My thoughts with love are with you now.
Sincerely,
Dorothy Sturtevant Ciampa. (Mrs Talley, to you)

Many great family memories have come our way by your mom. One particular one Greg remembers is Doug and Mark's "Canoeing Adventure" on a trip to Banff . She related how furious she was at both of you, when the canoe tipped and spilled you both in the water. You were both wearing heavy Indian sweaters, you got pulled out and put to bed, and she looked in on you and heard sniffling words to the effect thanks for saving me from each of you. Greg remembers his visit during spring break of '65 or '66 when she toured him around all the highlights of Santa Cruz including the Mystery Spot and helped her out with a cub scout meeting. We always enjoyed the visits that your mom and dad made to Vancouver and to our home in Abbotsford where she was genuinely interested in Greg's gardening efforts. On our visit to Davenport in '91 she proudly gave us a tour of her garden and especially pointing out an orchid type bloom on a long stemmed plant. She will be fondly remembered by us for many years to come

Very sorry to hear that your mom has passed but know that it was time. Wonderful to have a time of renewed energy near the time of her passing. It is sad to know that all of the family is gone, it was such a great generation of hard working and generous people. I was really surprised to learn that her first name was Phyllis, I never ever heard her called that, she was always Auntie Enid. I was lucky to spend some time at your home when I was just a girl, mom and dad sent me down for a holiday and I spent several days enjoying the beach with your mom. She had a wonderful laugh and sense of humor. You will certainly miss her, my condolences to your family.
Love Alice and Darrel Boden

Mrs. Lee was a kind woman. I have lots of memories of being at the Lee family home in Capitola and she was always very welcoming. You were all so lucky to have had her in your lives for so long. She will be missed. Saying prayers for your family in this sad time.
