Dear Yolanda, Chris, Kelly and Michelle~
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Your dad was a truyl amazing person. I first met him when he had the Dr Pepper distributorship, and I was working at Aptos Village Market. He was about to open Pleasure Point Market and asked if I would come to work for him, which I did. The renovation of the market was amazing and the store was beautiful. I thought I was pretty special working in this beautiful store right on pleasure point and all the surfers became regulars. He and Yolanda were meticulous when it came to keeping the shelves stocked, making sure all products were lined up correctly and brought to the front of the shelve so nothing ever looked like an empty spot. Jimmy then patiently started teaching me how to do the bookkeeping for the store, and it became my destiny. From there my career in accounting began, and I have had some wonderful jobs due to Jimmy's fine training.
I feel so fortunate that I've been able to keep in touch with Jim and Yolanda throughout the years, and maintain a special friendship. While working at the market in the 70's I spent a lot of time with the kids when they were in the market, so it's been a pleasure to see Chris grow into a fine young man, and have the opportunity to see him occasionally around town. And it was a joy to see Kelly and Michelle at the memorial, what beautiful young ladies they have grown to be. I remeber when the kids were young they would speak half Chinese to me and half English, it was very cute and endearing. I hold many fond memories of working at the market, and they have stayed in my heart throughout the years.
Jimmy will be missed, but I feel grateful to have know him and Yolanda. Very special people to me.
